US FCC Clarifies Public Safety Broadband Spectrum Rules

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has dismissed a request from the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, for guidance on the scope of permissible operations in the 700 MHz band for public safety broadband services, but clarified that a broad interpretation of the definition of 'public safety services' could allow some of the proposed uses.
