FDA Approves Sodium Dodecylbenzenesulfonate as Food Additive

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended its regulations to allow the safe use of sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, a common antimicrobial agent, in wash water for fruits and vegetables, eliminating the need for a water rinse, in response to a petition from Ecolab, Inc.
