NHTSA Adopts Proposed Changes to Steering Control Rearward Displacement Standard

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has adopted proposed changes to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 204, Steering Control Rearward Displacement, which will no longer apply to vehicles certified to the frontal barrier crash protection requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, Occupant Crash Protection. The agency accepted one comment supporting the changes and incorporated additional suggested amendments.
