US Department of Agriculture Announces Value-Added Producer Grant Application Deadlines

The US Department of Agriculture's Rural Development (RD) has announced the availability of approximately $18 million in competitive grants for fiscal year (FY) 2009 to support independent agricultural producers in entering or expanding value-added activities. The grants aim to help small and medium-sized farms or ranches, including those owned by socially disadvantaged farmers and beginning farmers, by providing more weight in the scoring process.
