Public Meetings on Protective Regulations for Killer Whales in the Northwest Region Under the Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is hosting a third public meeting in Anacortes, WA, to gather public input on proposed regulations that would restrict vessels from approaching killer whales within 200 yards and from parking in their path in inland waters of Washington State, and from entering a conservation area during a defined season, following requests for additional public meetings to increase public participation.
