Advisory Guidance: Transportation of Batteries and Battery-Powered Devices

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are issuing advisory guidance to inform shippers and carriers about the safe transportation of lithium batteries, following recent aviation incidents involving fires on aircraft, and to provide information on current requirements and future actions to address the hazards of these batteries.
