Bombardier Model CL-600-2B16 (CL-605) Airplane to be Equipped with Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS)

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued special conditions for the Bombardier Model CL-600-2B16 (CL-605) airplane, which will be equipped with an Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) designed by Rockwell Collins Aerospace & Electronics, Inc. The EFVS is a novel system that displays forward-looking infrared (FLIR) radar imagery on a head-up display (HUD), and the FAA has established additional safety standards to ensure the system meets existing airworthiness regulations.
