NIH Reviewing Proposal to Introduce Tetracycline Resistance into Chlamydia trachomatis

The NIH Office of Biotechnology Activities is reviewing a proposal by Dr. Harlan Caldwell to transfer a tetracycline resistance trait to non-ocular strains of Chlamydia trachomatis, which could compromise treatment of the disease caused by this organism.
