US Health Secretary Declares Emergency for Peramivir Antiviral Use

The US Secretary of Health and Human Services has issued a declaration and authorization for the emergency use of the antiviral medication peramivir, following a public health emergency declaration for the 2009-H1N1 influenza pandemic. This authorization is subject to the terms of the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act.
