HHS Releases Update to Report on Radioactive and Beryllium Contamination at Atomic Facilities
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released the third revision to a report on residual radioactive and beryllium contamination at facilities where atomic weapons were produced, as required by the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000 (EEOICPA). The report, which was first issued in 2002, aims to determine if significant contamination remained at these facilities after they stopped working for the Department of Energy (DOE) or its predecessor agencies.
