NHTSA Reopens Comment Period for Information Collection Activity

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is reopening a public comment period for a document published in the Federal Register on May 29, 2026, due to an administrative error that shortened the comment period from 60 to 30 days. The public now has until August 26, 2026, to submit comments on the extension of a currently approved information collection for NHTSA's Criminal Penalty Safe Harbor Provision.
