U.S. Department of Education Finalizes New Regulations for Federal Student Aid Programs

The U.S. Department of Education has finalized new regulations for several federal student aid programs, including the Academic Competitiveness Grant and National SMART Grant, Federal Pell Grant, and Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant. The changes are aimed at implementing provisions of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Ensuring Continued Access to Student Loans Act of 2008 and the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008.
