USDA Adopts New Assessment Rate for South Texas Onion Committee

The USDA has finalized a rule reducing the assessment rate for the South Texas Onion Committee from $0.03 to $0.025 per 50-pound equivalent of onions, effective for the 2009-10 fiscal period and beyond, in an effort to lower the committee's reserve fund.
