EPA Approves Attainment of Air Quality Standards in Chicago and Evansville Nonattainment Areas

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has determined that the Chicago-Gary-Lake County, Illinois-Indiana and Evansville, Indiana nonattainment areas have met the 1997 fine particle National Ambient Air Quality Standard, allowing them to suspend certain air quality regulations for now.
