EPA Approves North Carolina's Redesignation of Great Smoky Mountains National Park Area to Attainment
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved North Carolina's request to redesignate the Great Smoky Mountains National Park 1997 8-hour ozone nonattainment area to attainment, meeting the Clean Air Act's criteria. This decision also includes a revised state implementation plan with new motor vehicle emission budgets and an insignificance finding for volatile organic compounds.
