Department of the Interior Proposes Federal Acknowledgment of Shinnecock Indian Nation

The Department of the Interior proposes to acknowledge the Shinnecock Indian Nation as an Indian Tribe within the meaning of Federal law, based on a preliminary finding that the nation satisfies seven mandatory criteria for acknowledgment.
