FAA Updates Airworthiness Directive for Turbomeca Arriel 1A1 Engines to Address Oil Leakage Issues

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is issuing an updated airworthiness directive (AD) for Turbomeca Arriel 1A1, 1A2, 1B, 1C, 1C1, 1C2, 1D, 1D1, 1E2, 1K1, 1S, and 1S1 turboshaft engines to address oil leakage issues in the reduction gearboxes. The new directive aims to prevent engine shutdown, fire, and emergency landings by adding more serial numbers and an alternative inspection method.
