EPA Announces Draft National Water Quality Criteria for Ammonia to Protect Aquatic Life

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a draft of national recommended water quality criteria for ammonia to safeguard aquatic life, based on guidelines from 1985, and will provide guidance to states and authorized tribes in adopting water quality standards and to the EPA for promulgating federal regulations under the Clean Water Act.
