US Department of Agriculture to Increase Cash Value Vouchers for Pregnant, Postpartum Women Under WIC Program

The US Department of Agriculture is revising the WIC food packages rule to provide pregnant, postpartum, and partially breastfeeding women with increased cash value vouchers for fruits and vegetables, from $8.00 to $10.00 per month, in line with the National Academies' Institute of Medicine recommendations, funded by the Fiscal Year 2010 Agriculture Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.
