NRC Issues Environmental Assessment for EnergySolutions Exemption Modification

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for a modification to an exemption granted to EnergySolutions, LLC, allowing it to possess special nuclear material without a license. The exemption was initially granted in 1999 and was modified in response to a request from EnergySolutions in 2006.
