NHTSA Clarifies Fuel Economy Authority for Commercial Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is issuing a new rule to clarify its authority to set fuel economy standards for commercial medium- and heavy-duty on-highway vehicles and work trucks, while also reviewing existing standards for consistency and enforcing affected standards pending a separate rulemaking process.
