NRC Announces Availability of Model Application for BWR Operability Requirements and Actions for RCS Leakage Instrumentation

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has made available a model application and safety evaluation for the plant-specific adoption of Technical Specifications Task Force Traveler TSTF-514, Revision 3, which revises BWR operability requirements and actions for RCS leakage instrumentation as part of the consolidated line item improvement process (CLIIP). The revised Technical Specifications (TS) will establish new time limits for restoring inoperable RCS leakage detection instrumentation and provide alternate methods of monitoring RCS leakage when required monitors are inoperable.
