FCC to Begin Digital Licensing for Low Power Television and TV Translators

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is allowing the filing of applications for new digital-only Low Power Television (LPTV) and TV translator stations, as well as major changes to existing facilities, starting August 25, 2009, in rural areas and nationwide on January 25, 2010. This move marks the beginning of digital licensing for these types of stations.
