Parole Commission to Re-examine Parole Guidelines for DC Prisoners
The Parole Commission is revising its parole guidelines for District of Columbia prisoners after a federal court ruled that the current guidelines may lead to increased punishment in violation of the Ex Post Facto Clause of the US Constitution. The Commission will re-schedule parole hearings for eligible prisoners, using guidelines from 1985, unless they receive a parole effective date on record.
