Coast Guard Amends Regulations for Vessel Financial Responsibility
The U.S. Coast Guard is updating regulations to require vessel operators to demonstrate financial responsibility for water pollution, aligning with recent statutory increases and future mandated increases under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990. The changes aim to clarify the current rule and improve the administration of the certificate of financial responsibility program.
