DHS Designates Office of Infrastructure Protection as Sector-Specific Agency for Critical Manufacturing Sector

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has designated the Office of Infrastructure Protection (IP) as the Sector-Specific Agency (SSA) for the Critical Manufacturing Sector under the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP). This move aims to establish a new critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR) sector, with initial steps including the creation of Government and Sector Coordinating Councils and implementation of the NIPP Risk Management Framework.
