US Department of Homeland Security Issues Final Rule Exempting Portions of Maritime Awareness Global Network (MAGNET) System from Privacy Act Provisions

The US Department of Homeland Security has issued a final rule to exempt certain portions of the MAGNET system from provisions of the Privacy Act, citing criminal, civil, and administrative enforcement requirements, following the original publication of the SORN and proposed rulemaking in 2008.
