NMFS Issues Temporary Rule for Shrimp Trawling in Louisiana Waters

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued a temporary rule allowing shrimp fishermen to use limited tow times as an alternative to Turtle Excluder Devices (TEDs) in state and federal waters offshore of Louisiana for a 30-day period, due to environmental conditions caused by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
