US Army Corps of Engineers to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for MRGO Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study

The US Army Corps of Engineers plans to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet (MRGO) ecosystem restoration project in the Middle and Lower Pontchartrain Basin and southern Mississippi. The project aims to restore damaged estuaries and ecosystem processes affected by the MRGO navigation channel, which was authorized by Congress in 1956 and completed in 1968.
