NIH Issues Standards of Care for Chimpanzees in Federally Supported Sanctuary System

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has released standards for the care of chimpanzees in federally funded sanctuaries, as mandated by the Chimpanzee Health Improvement, Maintenance, and Protection Act (CHIMP Act). These standards will guide facilities receiving federal funding to ensure the health and well-being of the chimpanzees.
