New Aviation Security Rule Mandates Enhanced Protection for Transport Category Airplanes

The rule, which adopts several ICAO standards, requires manufacturers to incorporate security features in new transport category airplanes, including protected flightdecks and compartments, to prevent penetration by projectiles and unauthorized access, as well as detonation of explosive or incendiary devices.
