EPA Approves California's Plan to Improve Air Quality in San Joaquin Valley
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved California's request to revise the San Joaquin Valley's serious nonattainment area for particulate matter of ten microns or less (PM-10) by splitting it into two separate areas. The EPA is also redesignating the area to attainment for the PM-10 national ambient air quality standard and approving a maintenance plan for the area.
