US Forest Service to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Slate Castle Project in South Dakota

The US Forest Service plans to assess the environmental impact of a proposal to treat mountain pine beetle infestations and reduce wildfire risk in the 44,500-acre Slate Castle Project Area, which includes National Forest System land and private property near Hill City, South Dakota.
