NMFS Establishes Fishing Gear Inspection Program for Modified Pound Net Leaders in Virginia Chesapeake Bay Waters

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is launching an inspection program to ensure modified pound net leaders used in the Virginia waters of the mainstem Chesapeake Bay meet the required standards, in line with the Endangered Species Act of 1973, to protect threatened and endangered sea turtles.
