NOAA and DOI Unveil Framework for National System of Marine Protected Areas in US

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Department of the Interior (DOI) have jointly proposed a framework for the National System of Marine Protected Areas in the US, in response to Executive Order 13158 on Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The framework aims to guide collaborative efforts among federal, state, and local governments to develop an effective National System of MPAs, based on input from stakeholders and governmental partners over several years.
