Medicare Program; Revisions to the Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Benefit Programs; Correcting Amendment

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has published an interim final rule revising regulations for the Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Benefit Programs, reflecting new statutory requirements and marketing requirements set to be in place by November 15, 2008, as mandated by the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA). The rule updates regulations governing special needs plans, private-fee-for-service plans, regional preferred provider organizations, Medicare medical savings accounts, and prescription drug pricing, coverage, and payment processes.
