NIST Establishes Laboratory Accreditation Program for Biometric Testing

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has announced the establishment of a laboratory accreditation program (LAP) for laboratories performing biometric testing under the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP), which will utilize internationally recognized standards from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), NIST, and the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS). Laboratories can now submit applications for accreditation.
