Federal Hardrock Mineral Prospecting Permits Project in Superior National Forest to be Analyzed

The US Forest Service will conduct an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on federal hardrock mineral exploration permits in the Superior National Forest over the next 20 years, considering 32 current and future applications, operating plans, and use authorizations, while excluding areas like the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Mining Protection Area.
