Adjustment of Monetary Threshold for Reporting Rail Equipment Accidents/Incidents for Calendar Year 2009

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is adjusting the monetary threshold for reporting rail equipment accidents/incidents for the 2009 calendar year. The new threshold of $8,900 is higher than the previous $8,500 threshold, reflecting cost increases since the last threshold adjustment in December 2007, and applies to railroad accidents/incidents involving property damage during 2009.
