NRC Proposes Amendment to Limit Byproduct Material in Generally Licensed Devices

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to limit the amount of byproduct material in devices that are generally licensed to below one-tenth of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Category 3 thresholds, requiring individuals with devices meeting or exceeding these thresholds to obtain a specific license.
