U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Approves Revised Spent Fuel Storage Regulations for Holtec's HI-STORM 100 System

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has amended its spent fuel storage regulations to include Holtec International's HI-STORM 100 dry cask storage system, allowing for the underground storage of dry spent nuclear fuel and reinstating decay heat limits for damaged fuel and fuel debris.
