U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to Host Public Meeting on Low-Level Radioactive Waste Blending

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will hold a public meeting on January 14, 2010, in Rockville, Maryland, to gather input on the blending of low-level radioactive waste (LLRW), a practice that has gained increased attention since the closure of the LLRW disposal facility at Barnwell, South Carolina, on June 30, 2008.
