Nuclear Regulatory Commission Issues Revised Guidance on Aging Management Program for Electrical Cable Connections

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has released a revised License Renewal Interim Staff Guidance (LR-ISG) document, LR-ISG-2007-02, which updates its guidance on the Aging Management Program (AMP) for electrical cable connections. The revised guidance recommends a one-time inspection for these connections, rather than the periodic inspections previously recommended, in an effort to improve the effectiveness of preventive maintenance programs.
