FDA Reclassifies Herpes Simplex Virus Serological Assays

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is issuing a direct final rule to correct the classification of herpes simplex virus (HSV) serological assays, removing the reference to HSV serological assays other than type 1 and type 2, to eliminate confusion resulting from a previously incorrect classification.
