FDA Authorizes Emergency Use of Peramivir for Swine Influenza A (2009-H1N1 Influenza)

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for peramivir, a medication not yet approved by the agency, to treat Swine Influenza A (now known as 2009-H1N1 Influenza) in certain adult and pediatric patients, following a public health emergency declaration by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
