EPA Grants Petition to Initiate Rulemaking Proceedings for Nonylphenol and Nonylphenol Ethoxylates

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has agreed to initiate rulemaking proceedings under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to address concerns over the health and environmental impacts of nonylphenol and nonylphenol ethoxylates, following a petition from six environmental groups, including the Sierra Club and Physicians for Social Responsibility, which requested stricter regulations on the use of these chemicals.
