IRS Proposes New Rules for Excise Taxes on Prohibited Tax Shelter Transactions and Related Disclosure Requirements

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has proposed new regulations requiring taxpayers to report and pay excise taxes on prohibited tax shelter transactions, as well as disclose related information, and to file returns within a specified time frame.
