DoD Adopts Final Rule for Emergency Acquisitions Under DFARS

The US Department of Defense (DoD) has adopted an interim rule amending the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to provide a single reference to DoD-unique acquisition flexibilities that may be used to facilitate and expedite acquisitions of supplies and services during emergency situations, such as those caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This rule will help the DoD to quickly respond to emergencies and acquire necessary supplies and services without going through the usual procurement process.
