EPA Proposes Extension of Global Laboratory and Analytical Use Exemption for Class I Ozone-Depleting Substances

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to extend the exemption for the production and import of class I ozone-depleting substances for laboratory and analytical uses beyond December 31, 2007, contingent on future actions by the Parties to the Montreal Protocol. This exemption allows U.S. persons to produce and import controlled substances for non-essential uses that have not been identified by EPA as non-essential.
