US Fish and Wildlife Service Announces 12-Month Finding on Petition to List Sclerocactus brevispinus as Endangered or Threatened Species
The US Fish and Wildlife Service has announced a 12-month finding on a petition to list Sclerocactus brevispinus, also known as the Pariette cactus, as an endangered or threatened species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. The service also proposes to change the taxonomy of the currently threatened Sclerocactus glaucus complex to three distinct species: Sclerocactus brevispinus, S. glaucus, and S. wetlandicus, while maintaining the threatened status of each species.
